Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

We use the term extraordinary minister of Holy Communion precisely in relationship to the ordinary ministers. So if one were to call a priest then an extraordinary minister of the sacrament of penance the idea is that the bishop then should be the ordinary minister and that he is the ordinary minister. But given certain circumstances there there's a need for this extraordinary operation this extraordinary ministry to take place.
