Yet with these extraordinary possibilities come equally significant risks. Clune says we need AI safety measures—particularly as the technology matures into powerful, open-ended forms. Potential pitfalls include agents inadvertently causing harm or malicious actors subverting AI’s capabilities for destructive ends.
