The Importance of Inconvenience in Spiritual Growth

I didn't know why I was here until I followed enough of my sponsors directions that I was doing 12-step work and I started to sponsor people. The one thing happens before you realize it is you're getting intermittent times of being relieved of the bondage of self when you feel free. An Alcoholics Anonymous is asking a selfish, self-obsessed, obsessively self-concerned person to push himself aside and serve a purpose greater than himself. Self-serving has low value. It's anti-spiritual.
