Doom wasn't the first computer that first game that could be played across computers. That actually had happened probably in those late 70s. Local area networks where you like have a cable that plugs into the back of your computer was not even a thing until basically around the year when Doom came out. So luckily, Doom arrived to take advantage of that. But it was the very first high speed death match shooter. It was our fifth first person shooter in 3D.
