The North Carolina State Legislature Pushes a Fan-Fix Slash Fringe Law Theory
Some voters challenged the North Carolina map that the state legislature had drawn on the ground that the map constituted an illegal partisan gerrymander. And they actually won in the North Carolina Supreme Court, at least initially. But then the North Carolina legislature pushing a fringe legal theory successfully petitioned the United States Supreme Court for certiorari. The U.S. Supreme Court has the chance to embrace this fan-fix slash fringe claims in a majority opinion for the first time. Stay tuned.
