Should Diversion Airports Be Considered Valid Diversion Points?

The aircraft was supposed to leave yesterday at about 1900 UTC and ended up leaving, I want to say it about noon UTC today on Wednesday. It does seem to me that it probably took Air India a little too long to dispatch a new aircraft to get those drive passengers out of there. So we'll have to see at the end of this whole saga if anything could have been done better... But again, everyone seems to be doing the best they can.
