Trump Is a Target or a Subject of the Investigation, I Don't Think So.
When this case first broke months ago, it wasn't at all clear to me that trump was a target or even a subject of the investigation. We are now over a year removed from trump leaving the white house, and there are still documents, apparently, at marilago. It really defies belief that he had not been advised that he was still in possession of classified material that needed to be returned. But just as a practical matter, i don't think they would have gone in and cracked open his safe, as he sort of characterizes it, had he not been a target.
