I think it is commonly the case that in recent decades and I can't speak to this like I don't know how historical this phenomenon is. For a lot of people they actually view the synod on synodality exclusively through the lens of well conformity with the leaders what this is all about, he says. The danger is the thing becomes reduced only to a slogan that's meant to convey sort of conformity with with the leader right? That undermines the possibility for a sort of authentic integration of new or resurgent ideas into the life of the church according to Pope Francis.
