The Importance of Insecurity in Conflict

Like both men and women, we have this weird way of trying to obtain power because I think the root of it is fear. The man is deeply, deeply afraid of being wounded in his Christlike sacrificial love. The woman is deeply fearful of submitting to someone who will hurt her. And so sometimes the man can be overly domineering not simply because he just wants to control somebody to feel good. But what we're really doing is really just exposing how weak we really are.
