What Are the Power Dynamics of Talk Time?
Power is the ability to control other people. In our society, women are perceived as talking too much when they're actually only talking maybe like 25 to 30% of the time. And that's just our particular cultural dynamics. We are a patriarchal society. Men and women, all genders, react badly when women talk versus when men talk. So we have to kind of be aware of how power works in our own society.
