Civic Responsibility and the Common Good

What are the non-negotiable factors for Christians to consider when voting? Do we have a moral responsibility to participate in political activism? How are Christians meant to interface with earthly government authorities? In this election, many are dissatisfied with both candidates for President due to their hardline positions related to abortion. What are we as the faithful to do when confronted with two evil, non-ideal options?
