If you are a ripple on the surface of the ocean, do you know yourself only as a ripple or do you realize that you are also in more fundamentally a manifestation of the ocean itself? So you are both. It is not separate from consciousness. The ripple existence is fairly short left but what happens when the ripple realizes that it is not just the ripple it is also more important, more essentially the ocean.
