The Home of Elder Henry
Elder henry was the minister who ran the home. Story was he'd been a miner once himself, but a gas explosion had disfigured the man's face and blown him backwards. He developed the strange affectation of wearing a long robe with a monk's hood to hide his disfigured form. One older girl told sarah she saw him without the hood, one he looked like half cooked pork bud. The ladies that tended to the night time needs of the home were off puttin. You never saw em in daylight hours are working outside, and they seemed impossibly old and tall. Their skin held a papery gray pall that seemed to absorb the pale candle light of the hallway
