The First Cell Phone

50 years ago this week, the first public cell phone call was made. Martin Cooper from Motorola led the team that made that happen half a century ago. He didn't see a car phone as a truly mobile device at that time. The first one he had, he had like a unit in the trunk. They were like 50 pounds. You would have to have carried like a 50 pound thing around with you if you wanted to be mobile with it.
