The Immigrants of Red Cloud

Catherine Ingalls Wilder wrote about the same era and approximate location in American history. She had said she was like fascinated by the immigrant communities that were moving into Red Cloud. There are maybe two or three references to any native people, but I can't think of a character we see. It's all about white people just coming along and setting up and land.
