Is the New Media a Theme Park?

I think the mainstream media is at least as guilty of that as anything in the blog sphere. And so I think that model has worked for newspapers as well as it's worked for blogs. It's certainly nothing that was invented by the Huffington Post. Why couldn't the web very quickly adapt to that sort of model?
