The Value of Reading a Book

i like the idea of high lighting or trying to produce something that makes your take aways a bit more concrete, like making notes and things. But i think there probably is value even outside of the high light or the notes that you explicitly take. For example, i wouldn't want to just read a summary of high lights, so blinkist is quite a good service for summarizing books. I'm fully on board with the idea that a book is worth more than just a tilight. And like, it's perfectly fine if you don't read the book page in, you cover to cover, one page at a time.
