Community Engagement - What's the Structure?

Community ownership of green spaces and blue spaces particularly is critical in determining how those spaces are run. We use a sociocratic method of making decisions, which means decisions are made by consent, not consensus. If people have objections, the proposal is re worked until those objections disappear. Anyone can come along to our meetings and they're a guest. Then they pitch in and they do some stuff, and they become a friend. And if they kind of stick around and we really get into know them and they're superinvolved, then they become a member,. They kind of have legal responsibility for the charity. So we like to think this is a bit of a blue print for other community groups.
