Shakespeare's Anti-Stoicism

I wouldn't want to suggest that Shakespeare is in favor of neo-stoicism. He's suspicious of it, and he shows it tending to break down under pressure. The things that we most like about characters like Brutus or Antony are their failures. I think Shakespeare mocks this. Stoicism is all about reining in your emotions, whereas the Shakespearean drama is all about letting your emotions go.
