This is murray from the umni americans, extemporizing in response to the exigencies of the situation in which he finds himself. It's a wonderful quote, and murray is wonderful, and it's too long for this x. But his real manifesto, in a musical sense, is stopping the blues. I don't think it's a perfect book, but if you're in jaz and you've never read it, you should check it out. There's some profound insights in there that you're not going to get any other way.
