Camping and Nature - Are There Contradictions?

I wanted to ask you about how people, especially those who are critical of american society, often from the left or progressive, may have lost sight of the long historical routes of a lot of these things in the way they see questions of camping and nature. It seems like those people who would be particularly critical of the status quo may have an unreflective view of nature, and camping is an extension of that.
