The Importance of Strength and Conditioning for Beginners

Don't start climbing as a newbie and start spending 80% of your time training. Many are strong enough, have decent fitness, but get pumped on the kind of roots they want to do. The older climbers who are fit from loads of trad or boulders who are strong both end up fading with rock hard arms. A lot of root climbers come to us with either the combination of weak fingers or the inability to exert or apply their finger strength on the rock because they don't go bouldering enough.
