The Importance of Having a Dad
Brett Gardner was traded from the Seattle Mariners to the Cincinnati Reds in 1993. His father, Davey Johnson, became a bench coach for the Reds that year. He says it was "completely nothing like I thought it was going to be" when his dad took over as manager of Tacoma's minor league team. The two men still play against each other today.
