The Pros and Cons of Learning From Rails

The upshot is it doesn't matter. It's like if you're used to passing in a user object and into a form for at user, like if you wanted to have an at user that's not a thing that inherits from active record base or application record now. So as long as you give it something that is the right shape, it will happily accept it and work with it. Took me a couple years to realize that and actually still coding that way.
