In the biblical authors way of viewing history, the rise and fall of Egypt and the rise and Fall of Babylon become archetypes of how God is working in all of human history. If something is an archetype, it means it's like the prime example of which there are many other types of examples. But they all fall under the umbrella of the perfect example.
