Dan Minsky's core thesis is that capitalism relies a lot on inherent instability because of the business cycle boom and bust. He says central banks can limit fluctuations by providing liquidity in a crisis but they cannot eliminate these cycles. The longer stability goes on, the more you suspect some kind of financial stress is building up somewhere in the system.
