Is There Anything We Can Learn From Diana?
Diana was an exceptional and gifted human being. In good times and bad, she never lost her capacity to smile and laugh. I admired and respected her for her energy and commitment to others. Do you think we can learn anything about her from the way all of that unfolded? We never knew the Queen, of course we didn't; we had to rely on fantasies of the crown, or majesty magazine, or the sun, rumour and gossip. Each of us could think our own thoughts about what sort of person she was. But it was quite useful in a way, this idea rather like Elizabeth I, of figurehead, more than she was a human, was perhaps necessary.
