The high level structure of the code is roughly the same. The main things that change with a lexer are a, you get to look ahead more, which might make certain things easier. To some degree, these are in a language that's completely ignoring white space. That's not really an issue in the first place, but in rock, you want to attach and preserve white space for the purposes of the editor.
