UPS and Teamsters Union Start Labor Talks in the US
Parcel Service and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Union started US private sector labor contract talks covering roughly 340,000 US drivers. The sticks are high for union and management as recession threatens to cut into business and worker participation in unions sits at all time lows despite an uptick in labor activism. What's going on here? Are we seeing a real capitalist crisis where it is actually not possible to meet these demands or is it a situation of just the workers need to get more power?
