How to Treat a Free-Floating Mass Fracture
The vertebral artery goes up the transverse frame and of C6 through C1. It's considered that extracranial area. The artery is pretty tough there. Once it goes, exits above C1 and dives into the frame and magnum, then the walls become very thin. They might have several weeks of anticoagulant or antiplatelet therapy.
