Did the Casing Stones Wear Away?

Most of the outer casing stones are missing. You can actually see some of them to day in the caramuseum from the middle kingdom. The cabstone or the pyramidan would have been different materials depending on e period of time. It's almost like your seeing this living embodiment of the king's power as a god on earth.
