The Discourse of Citizenship
I was at a conference last week and someone asked me if, if citizenship is, is performance. And I thought absolutely it's performance, right? It's that, that performance of this person gets to vote and this person doesn't,. This person's more worthy and this person isn't, right? So, uh, and I think the, that's the discourse. The United States is a kick in the bucket compared to other areas of the world where you have categories become citizen and non-citizen. That all goes back to who's a citizen, who's not meaning who's worthy and who's not - which becomes crazy with globalization because you have large groups of people.
