Is This a Gray Just the Color of Batman's Suit?
This song was written way back in the late 1980s. The musical recorded it on a four track recorder, layering his voice multiple times to create this acapella demo. Joel Schumacher heard it, the director of Batman Forever and included it in the end credits of the movie. And then it became a massive hit. There's an era of sort of gothic mystery about this song that lends itself to ambiguity and open interpretation.
