Elizabeth continued to be confused as to why she kept bumping into Darcy on her daily walks through the Rosings Estate. Colonel Fitzwilliam intercepted her ramble and let slip that Darcy had mentioned his involvement in Bingley's sudden change of heart towards Jane. And so, here we pick up the story, finding Elizabeth in her room at the Passenage, rummaging through all her previous letters from Jane. She noticed every sentence conveying the idea of uneasiness with an attention which it had hardly received on the first perusal.
