Can We Conquer Fire?

Flash Forward

00:00

What Is the Fire Triangle?

Fire is a thermic chemical reaction. That means it gives off heat and light in various intensities. Everything takes place in the gas phase, so flammable liquids don't burn. It has to be turned into a vapor in order to burn. So why do some things burn others don't? Like when you put a metal pan on the stove, it gets really hot, but it doesn't catch fire. But even if you grind up your silverware, that still doesn't mean you'll be able to light it on fire. And please do not try that.
