How Do You Counteract Achievement Bias?

Achievement bias is, like all other cognive biases, very difficult to overcome. Like most skills, it takes years of work to get good at the kind of thing that someone who values achievement might do. Even if there is a survivorship bias, gathering up all the people who weren't successful and statistically controlling for their results would be an enormous project. I think we should consider non achievers words more carefully, especially since those voices are rarer.
