The Importance of System Maps
We often see things in a snapshot. We create a static thing, a snapshot of something that is intrinsically transient and changing all the time. Buddy himself in the article encourages us to see things as systems or obviously, but not snapshots. For example, when I was in elementary school, I assumed my friend Tony was someone that was not motivated and I labored him as lazy. In reality, Tony had an issue in his family and didn't have the mental space or energy for school. The thought of his parents fighting and arguing was exhausting him.
