Why Do You Need a Gun?
One of the givins is that you have a constitutional right to bear arms. No constitutional right is absolute, and the supreme court doesn't say that they're absolute. So this idea that the way new york a handled gun permitting was constitutional as just really, really flawedite. The state has to prove a good reason for why they can deny someone a gun, rather than the citizen prove why they need one. And if you're gong to work within the logic ofa that flows from how we talk about rights in this countrythe decision makes complete sense.
