"You have to be careful because there are, I don't know how many different types of African-American communities you would say there are in the United States," he says. "So to say, the black Americans think of this, that would be a very silly thing to say." He's doing work on Edward S. Curtis' 40,000 pictures of Native Americans and interviews with elders about them.
