Does the Higgs Field Have Any Energy to It?
Quantum fields have to wiggle in very discrete ways. Like a guitar string, it can't wiggle at arbitrary notes because of how you cut off the ends of it. The Higgs field got stuck in sort of like a local minimum when universe was cooling down. Things tend to like to flow down to low potential energy the way water will flow down to the bottom of a valley.
