NASA has tried to stay away from using plutonium because it doesn't have the x-rays. In our case, however, we're saying, hey, how do we take this disadvantage and turn it into an advantage? So use those x-rays for science. We drill a hole, you know, through the shield, a small pinhole, as we call it. And now we have a flashlight. I sometimes want to call it a laser pointer Because the beam can be controlled to what someone might think of as laser pointing. But in this case, it's just a beam of x-rays that's coming out.
