In November 2010, as a Member of Parliament, it's absolutely obligatory and you want to wear a poppy for the two weeks running up to that momentous commemoration. The Chinese diplomatic staff say you can't go wearing those poppies. And I said, well, why is this? And they said, because it reminds us of the opium trade and reminds us of what happened with the opening up of Hong Kong and the poppy trade and all the rest of it.
