Xanadu Choreographer Kenny Ortega
Kenny Ortega started out as an actor who appeared in the touring production of Oliver and Hare. He was hired to help with the choreography on Xanadu, where he was mentored by Gene Kelly. His passion for musicals is what led him to direct Newsies - his directorial debut.
