Redeeming Your Life From the Pit

David says that if God hadn't shown up and rescued, redeemed me, I would have been in the pit. David is also looking for, based off some of the other writings of David, we have an understanding that this vision of resurrection is the end goal of where the story is going. In thinking about the necessity of being redeemed from the pit, he picks up on this later in verse 14 when he talks about how he knows that we're made of dust.
