The FTSE 100 index fell by a record 4138 points yesterday morning. However the markets recovered in the afternoon when they remember that they simply don't care. The US this week announced the federal budget deficit fell to 162 billion the lowest in five years however the national debt is still nine trillion the largest in the world. And with the Nobel Prize season upon us the world really has been a buzz with speculation as to who will take the prize for physics.
