Is Plasticity Causing Aging in the Brain?

It's maybe not as noticeable until very late when plasticity can no longer compensate for the deterioration of the circuits that are there. In older individuals, they use broader and broader areas of their neocortex to carry out routine tasks every day. They may appear to be functioning normally within more restricted behavioral confines.
