The Costs of Increased Police Presence
One of the few questions we really do know the answer to is that increasing police hiring, increasing police presence reduces crime. There's just, you know, that is something that is as close to can be proven in a social science setting has been proven. People agree with this even more, which is that increasing social service budgets like housing and health will improve public safety. But though the median survey said they agreed, they agreed with less confidence than the other two.
