What Was the Role of the Military in the Bolsonaro Protests?

After Lula was elected in late 2022, you saw Bolsonaro protesters take to the streets. They were also camping out in front of military barracks across Brazil. On January 8th, protests had grown up around the military barracks in that city. And as they marched, they turned from a protest into a riot and violent attacks on the capital buildings.
