For many patients seen in a non-trauma center, if you suspect intra-abdominal injury based on your focus that you don't need a CT scan. If it's not going to change your management then why are you doing the test? That has to be the underlying principle when ordering tests. There is a sweet spot for axial imaging prior to transfer that can't actually be quite useful.
