When you reach phi, it's not unicorns and puppies every single day. Your life is going to still be your life. And I think that keeps a lot of people in the working world longer than they might because they have so much of their identity wrapped up in who they are as a person at work. The concept of having some set in stone plan, no matter what you conceptualize it as, isn't the reality of how things work.
